Blue Origin in Washington state seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Senior Manager to lead a team of experienced Manufacturing Engineers, driving early-lifecycle production planning and a hands-on focus on design, analysis, equipment operation, and test readiness for spaceflight hardware.

You will balance priorities, mentor engineers, coordinate with program managers and IPT leads, and push robust manufacturing processes in a fast-paced, safety‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university
• 7+ years in manufacturing or manufacturing engineering
• Experience managing people, projects, or programs
• Experience in hardware manufacturing and improving processes
• Strong written and verbal communications across all levels
• Ability to operate in ambiguous environments
• Understanding of product lifecycle management
• Proficiency in mechanical design/manufacturing fundamentals
• Ability to recruit and grow teams

Responsibilities

• Enable the success of a team of Manufacturing Engineers
• Establish roles, responsibilities, and accountability
• Balance workflow and priorities across the team
• Evaluate staffing requirements and recruit top performers
• Coordinate with program managers, operations leaders, and IPT Leads to meet objectives
• Support robust engineering fundamentals in fabrication processes
• Create data gathering tools to track team performance
• Ensure compliance with company processes and media
• Guide hardware preparation for test, qualification, and flight
• Promote DFMA and PFMEA studies
• Engage in BOM creation and Product Structure definition
• Mentor and develop engineers' goals and career paths
