Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Operations team at Space Coast, FL. You will own the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems, ensure high-quality production, and optimize the supply chain for lunar and spacecraft hardware.

You will collaborate with engineering, quality, and procurement to streamline processes, reduce costs, and accelerate build timelines while applying Lean and DFx principles and maintaining rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3+ years Level II Engineer, 5+ years Level III Engineer, or 8+ years Level IV Engineer in Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience creating clear, accurate manufacturing documentation (work instructions, BOM, flow diagrams).
• Ability to work required shift and site, with flexibility for extended shifts/overtime as needed.
• U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident or equivalent status.

Responsibilities

• Support industrialization of new flight and payload hardware.
• Drive application and optimization of DFM, DFA, DFT across product lifecycle.
• Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Collaborate with design engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations to integrate products and accelerate build.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (work instructions, inspection plans, process flows, tooling).
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing tech (composites, machining, additive, metrology, automation).
• Lead root cause investigations and drive corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance to AS9100, ISO 9001, NASA, UL, AWS, etc.
• Own or support FMEAs, risk assessments, equipment validation, and product qualification.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and Lean/DFx adoption.
• Mentor engineers and technicians; represent Manufacturing Engineering in reviews.
