Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a dynamic Manufacturing Engineer for its Space Coast, FL operations team. The role leads design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems, ensures quality control, and optimizes supply chain logistics for production and operations.

The successful candidate will collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to drive DFM/ DFA/ DFT, develop robust processes, and evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university.
• 5+ years in manufacturing/industrial/process engineering.
• 3+ years creating English work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Industrialize new products in solar arrays, integration/test, avionics, structures.
• Contribute to design for manufacturability/assembly/test (DFM/DFA/DFT).
• Translate requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design engineering, quality, supply chain and production teams.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (WIs, flow diagrams, tool designs, inspection plans).
• Evaluate new manufacturing technologies (composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
• Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Participate in FMEAs, risk assessments, validation of new production lines and equipment.
• Identify efficiency gains and cost reductions; scale production to space programs.
• Gain expertise in at least one specialty area (solar arrays, integration, build flow, avionics, structures).
• Mentor and lead engineers/technicians; communicate with stakeholders.
