Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Operations team on the Space Coast in Florida. The role focuses on designing and implementing efficient manufacturing systems, ensuring quality control, and optimizing supply chain logistics for production and operations.

You will work with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve production timelines, including new product industrialization in solar arrays and avionics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role.
• 3+ years of experience creating English work instructions.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident or eligible to work in the U.S.
• Must be able to work second shift and have flexibility to move shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support the industrialization of new products in areas such as solar arrays, integration and test, avionics, and structures.
• Contribute to design for manufacturability, design for assembly, and design for test to build reliable vehicles for space exploration.
• Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes that support Blue Origin’s mission.
• Collaborate with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate building a road to space.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (e.g., composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
• Support root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances; develop and implement corrective actions that enhance reliability and performance.
• Ensure all work aligns with quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).
• Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction; work to scale mission objectives.
