Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Operations team on the Space Coast, FL. You will lead the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems, ensuring quality control and optimizing supply chain logistics for Production/Operations.

Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to translate requirements into repeatable processes, while advancing capabilities in areas like DFx and DFx for space hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role.
• 3+ years of experience creating English work instructions.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S.
• Must be able to work second shift and have flexibility to move shifts as needed.
• Open to work extended hours if required.

Responsibilities

• Industrialize new products in solar arrays, integration/test, avionics, and structures.
• Translate requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design engineering, quality, supply chain, and production teams.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions and process flow diagrams.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies (composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
• Support root cause analysis of non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all work aligns with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Participate in FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction.
• Gain expertise in at least one key specialty area (solar arrays, integration/test, build flow/sequencing, avionics, structures, etc.).
