Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for its Operations team on Space Coast, FL (Lunar Plant 2). The role focuses on designing efficient manufacturing systems, quality control, and supply-chain optimization to drive production timelines.

The ideal candidate will lead process improvements, collaborate across engineering, QA and production, and implement advanced manufacturing methods in a spaceflight environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering
• 3+ years creating English work instructions
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful resident per requirements

Responsibilities

• Support the industrialization of new products (solar arrays, integration and test, avionics, structures)
• Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT)
• Translate engineering requirements into repeatable manufacturing processes
• Collaborate with design engineering, QA, supply chain, and production teams
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (WIs, process flows, tool designs, inspection plans)
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies (composites, machining, additive manufacturing)
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve reliability
• Ensure alignment with AS9100/ISO 9001 and safety standards
• Participate in risk assessments and validation of new production lines
• Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction
