Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Senior Manual Test Engineer to ensure high-quality software solutions for federal-style projects. You will lead functional, regression, and integration testing, collaborating with product owners, analysts, and developers to validate requirements and ensure reliable user experiences across platforms.

The role requires a strong QA mindset, ability to design test plans, execute tests, and document results.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and manual testing.
• Experience testing web-based enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Experience creating and executing test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
• Hands-on experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar defect management tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; self-starter with problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to identify testing gaps and risks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and user acceptance testing.
• Document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
• Validate application functionality, data accuracy, and system integrations.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and product teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Participate actively in Agile development processes.
• Support release testing and production validation activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, and documentation.
