Job summary

Eaton’s Corporate Sector division is seeking a Manager, Supplier Development Engineering to lead a team responsible for building supplier capabilities in Special Process and Mechanical Assembly. This hybrid role can be located in Beachwood, OH; Charlotte, NC; Detroit/Jackson, MI; and other Eaton facilities with up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of eight (8) years experience in Supplier Development, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years leadership experience managing technical teams and cross-functional initiatives.
• Eaton will not sponsor immigration for this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the supplier development strategy for assigned regions, commodities, or business segments, setting priorities and resources to mitigate capability risks and enable growth.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Supplier Development Engineers, with performance expectations and career development plans.
• Oversee supplier capability, manufacturing, operational, and capacity risk assessments with proactive mitigation plans.
• Drive manufacturing excellence using Lean, Six Sigma, process capability, and advanced quality tools.
• Lead assessment and management of supplier production capacity, scalability and readiness to support demand and launches.
• Ensure readiness for new product introductions, localization, and supplier transitions through early engagement.
• Establish governance for supplier capability assessments, audits and development planning across the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure supplier readiness throughout product development and launches.
• Partner with Procurement, Supplier Quality, Operations, Engineering, Planning, and leadership on strategic priorities.
• Establish KPIs to monitor supplier development, risk reduction, capacity readiness and performance improvements.
• Promote standardization and best practices across the supplier network.
