Job summary

Lumos is seeking a Manager – OSP Engineering to lead the Outside Plant program in North Carolina. You will coordinate design, scheduling, and implementation of fiber-optic networks, driving projects from concept through completion while partnering with utilities and authorities.

You will guide teams, manage budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance, with a focus on delivering high-speed connectivity to communities across North Carolina and beyond.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Outside Plant telecommunications.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing OSP engineering teams.
• Strong leadership and collaborative problem-solving skills.
• Active, fully unencumbered driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and prioritize multi-million dollar OSP budgets for capital and operating expenditures.
• Review, approve, and coordinate complex project schedules with internal teams, contractors, customers and utilities.
• Provide strategic direction to employees and contracted resources for aligned project execution.
• Manage teams responsible for critical infrastructure work (railroad crossings, ROW easements, pole/conduit).
• Liaise with government agencies, utilities and telecom firms to support project success.
• Lead planning and engineering of all ILEC/CLEC and network OSP facilities (aerial, buried, underground).
• Participate in programs to improve capital efficiency and reduce installation timelines.
• Ensure all OSP engineering activities meet company objectives and regulatory requirements.
