Job summary

Lumos Fiber is seeking a full-time Manager – OSP Construction to lead Outside Plant builds and oversee subcontractor teams that install our 100% fiber network. You will collaborate with internal Lumos groups to build relationships with local officials and communities, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in OSP/construction fiber, 2-5 years leading techs and contractors, and strong PM skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in OSP construction, engineering, or operations fiber builds.
• 2-5 years’ experience leading techs and contractors in a fiber build environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proven project management skills; able to manage multiple milestones to closure.
• Proactive, independent, and able to take initiative to stay on-task.
• Active, fully unencumbered driver’s license.
• Fiber or Telecom industry experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Accomplishes assigned market builds safely, on time & within budget.
• Manages scheduling and coordination of maintenance, repair, and upgrade of OSP facilities and surrounding communities.
• Delegates responsibility and empowers direct reports to accomplish market tasks.
• Influences internal & external teams to ensure progress and staying on-target.
• Interfaces with local governments & communities, responding timely & graciously.
• Keeps internal & external stakeholders informed on build progress.
• Provides technical leadership and expertise to direct reports and subcontractor partner teams; establishes, standardizes and improves processes.
• Coordinates with utilities partners and internal Lumos engineering teams to plan & execute objectives.
• Manages CAPEX, OPEX, and inventory tracking.
• Accountable for building & maintaining a high-performing team; selects top-tier candidates and provides coaching.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
