Job summary

Lumos is seeking a full-time OSP Engineer in North Carolina to plan and prepare construction drawings for fiber optic networks. You will select cost-effective routes, ensure timely project progress, and coordinate with permitting bodies and customers.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in OSP engineering, strong regulatory knowledge, and proficiency with CAD, GIS, Excel, and SQL-based tools. Expect a fast-paced environment with growth opportunities and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ technical experience in OSP Engineering, Construction, or Operations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA rules, NESC, and telecom regulations.
• Proficient in Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) and data analysis; Power BI experience preferred.
• Experience reading OSP construction prints, CAD drawings, and GIS mapping systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed construction and installation drawings and review CAD/GIS data for alignment with project requirements.
• Estimate labor and material costs; perform design loss calculations.
• Manage OSP work schedules; track progress, budgets, and reports.
• Validate data using Snowflake/SQL and reporting tools to support decisions.
• Coordinate permitting with city officials and manage easements with landowners.
• Collaborate with Sales to design tailored solutions for customers.
