A globally recognized leader in industrial and specialty distribution is building out its corporate strategy footprint in the United States. As part of a broader expansion into North American markets, this organization is seeking a seasoned M&A and corporate development expert to lead high-impact transactions. The role offers a chance to partner directly with global leadership and drive strategic growth initiatives across the building materials, electronics, and chemical distribution sectors.

This is a high-visibility position with international scope, executive-level collaboration, and the opportunity to influence transformational deals valued between $50M and $250M.

This Role Offers:

  • Join a high-performing M&A team with international exposure and executive-level visibility.
  • Work directly with global leadership to shape the company's US footprint and long-term vision.
  • Get immersed in transactions across distribution, manufacturing, construction, and specialty chemicals.
  • Leverage your deal expertise to influence the North American expansion of a multibillion-dollar global enterprise.

Focus:

  • Identify and pursue acquisition targets aligned with corporate growth strategy, with a focus on proprietary and off-market opportunities.
  • Engage in industry research, competitive benchmarking, and market segmentation to discover strategic fits in the US landscape.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with M&A advisors, boutique investment banks, and private equity sponsors.
  • Lead the end-to-end M&A lifecycle: sourcing, diligence, modeling, negotiations, closing, and post-close execution.
  • Coordinate with internal finance, legal, and operations teams as well as external advisory firms (legal, tax, and financial due diligence).
  • Present findings and deal recommendations to international leadership and board-level stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement integration playbooks in partnership with operating units, ensuring continuity across finance, HR, operations, and IT.
  • Track KPI performance and synergy capture, resolving integration challenges in real time.
  • Operate as a key liaison between US operations and European headquarters, ensuring alignment on deal rationale and integration strategy.
  • Participate in strategic discussions with international leadership and travel to Europe as needed.

Skill Set:

  • 7+ years of M&A or corporate development experience within an industrial, distribution, or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong track record leading full-lifecycle M&A transactions, ideally 10+ closed deals.
  • Background in investment banking, private equity, or in-house corporate strategy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CFA preferred).
  • Experience working on cross-border M&A, especially with European counterparts.
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, PMP, or PMI certifications.
  • Familiarity with building materials, electrical components, or industrial chemicals sectors.
  • German language proficiency is a plus (not required).
