Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Business Development, will play a critical role in driving global sales and business development strategy for our Cell and Gene Therapies (CGT) Technologies division. Reporting to the Senior Director for Sales and Business Development, the Senior Manager will be responsible for growing our portfolio by identifying and leveraging strategic partnerships and initiatives in the rapidly evolving field of cell and gene therapies.

The Senior Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Field Application Specialists, R&D, Product Management, and Legal, to develop and implement strategies that foster innovation and align with market needs and business objectives. This role is suited for a strategic, driven individual with extensive knowledge of the Cell & Gene Therapies industry.

Additional Details

• Position may be remote, with willingness and ability to travel up to 40% (domestic & international), including trips to our U.S. headquarters in Lake Zurich, IL.
• Base salary range: $163,000-$182,000
• Eligible for an annual bonus plan with a target of 14% of the base salary.
• Final compensation will depend on experience, education, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute business strategies to expand the CGT Technologies division through partnerships, collaborations, and licensing agreements.
2. Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including collaborations with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, academic institutions, CDMOs, and other stakeholders in the gene and cell therapy space.
3. Negotiate and structure complex agreements, ensuring favorable terms and risk mitigation.
4. Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities and threats, providing strategic insights to leadership.
5. Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, product management, legal, commercial, marketing) to assess technical feasibility, drive business objectives, and manage project timelines.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience in sales and/or business development.
• Minimum 3 years of direct experience in the Cell and Gene Therapies industry, with a deep understanding of industry trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
• Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and business analytics tools.
• Willingness to travel up to 40%, including international travel.
