Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Business Development, will play a critical role in driving global sales and business development strategy for our Cell and Gene Therapies (CGT) Technologies division. Reporting to the Senior Director for Sales and Business Development, this role focuses on expanding our portfolio through strategic partnerships and initiatives in the rapidly advancing field of cell and gene therapies.

The Senior Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Field Application Specialists, R&D, Product Management, and Legal to shape and execute strategies that foster innovation and growth in line with business objectives and market needs. This position is ideal for a strategic, driven individual with deep industry knowledge.

Additional Details

• This position may be remote, with up to 40% travel (domestic and international), including trips to our U.S. headquarters in Lake Zurich, IL.
• Base salary range: $163,000-$182,000.
• Eligible for an annual bonus target of 14% of base salary.
• Final compensation will depend on experience, education, skills, and abilities.
• Benefits include a 401(k) plan with company contributions, paid time off, health coverage, and more.

Responsibilities

1. Lead development and execution of business strategies to expand the division through partnerships, collaborations, and licensing deals.
2. Identify and cultivate new business opportunities with pharmaceutical, biotech companies, academic institutions, CDMOs, and other stakeholders.
3. Negotiate and structure complex agreements, ensuring favorable terms and risk mitigation.
4. Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
5. Collaborate with internal teams to assess feasibility, drive objectives, and manage project timelines.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years in sales and/or business development.
• 3+ years specifically in the Cell and Gene Therapies industry, with industry knowledge.
• Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and analytics tools.
• Willingness to travel up to 40%, including internationally.
