Job summary

EY is seeking a senior architect to shape the knowledge foundation powering AI products and agents. You will lead the architecture for knowledge, retrieval, and grounding, turning diverse sources into a trustable enterprise memory while preserving provenance and access controls.

In Challenger Core, you’ll steer lighthouse implementations, collaborate with security, privacy, records, and legal teams, and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and strong problem solving.
• 9–12+ years of relevant experience in data, information, or platform architecture.
• Experience delivering knowledge or AI-enabled capabilities across sources and boundaries.
• Hands-on fluency with semantic, graph, or retrieval technologies and SQL.
• Proven ability to design pipelines and production controls for data integration.
• Policy-aware architecture experience including provenance and access controls.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and guide cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Set knowledge direction with target architecture, roadmap, and decision principles.
• Design federated organizational memory with durable interfaces and lifecycle expectations.
• Translate business questions with domain experts to define concepts and boundaries.
• Engineer trusted ingestion preserving authority, lineage, licensing, and uncertainty.
• Build effective retrieval using search, semantic, graph, and structured methods.
• Make evidence inspectable with citations, provenance, and quality signals.
• Embed policy in the path with security, privacy, retention, and deletion requirements.
• Prove the architecture through lighthouse implementations from prototype to production.
• Operate and improve service objectives, observability, and quality measures.
• Build shared capability, mentor engineers, and guide cross-functional decisions.
