Job summary

The Senior Analyst with University of California, Berkeley's Major Gifts team provides high-level operational and analytical partnership to major gift officers on the East Coast and Emerging Regions team, ensuring data-driven fundraising strategy and smooth execution of activities.

You will work with alumni, donors, faculty, internal colleagues, and campus leadership to source and share data inputs, operate with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, and support strategic growth across

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience applying working knowledge of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques in a philanthropic and analytically-focused role.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using effective techniques and methodologies of donor/prospect research, with a focus on the unique requirements and needs of donor/prospect research work.
  • Working knowledge of the campus, its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure and/or the ability to learn.
  • Working knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etcetera.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply excellent analytical and information management skills, including the ability to conduct research in multiple databases and systems and manage information using Excel and other tools. Strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Google Spreadsheets is a plus.
  • Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the campus and external constituencies.

Responsibilities

  • STRATEGIC PLANNING AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT - 25%: Contributes to revenue goals by managing key programs and strategies that drive revenue growth and pipeline efficiency.
  • DATA MANAGEMENT AND ANALYSIS - 20%: Tracks and analyzes results of development activities and progress toward fundraising goals.
  • COMMUNICATIONS AND COLLATERAL DEVELOPMENT - 20%: Prepares briefing materials, trip itineraries, and drafts proposals with major gift officers.
  • PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT AND PROSPECT RESEARCH - 15%: Works with Prospect Development to manage research needs and update donor portfolios.
  • EVENT COORDINATION - 10%: Creates event structures, manages invitations, RSVPs, and donor events.
  • PROGRAM AND STAKEHOLDER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT - 10%: Maintains knowledge of regional development activities and coordinates campus visits and tours.

Education

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
