Job summary

The University of California, Berkeley seeks an Associate Director for East Coast and Emerging Regions, regionally based to lead major gift fundraising from alumni, parents, and friends on the East Coast and Emerging Regions on behalf of campus. You will develop fundraising strategies, manage a 100–125 donor portfolio, coordinate large campaigns, and support campus leadership travel.

The role targets gifts of $250k+ with a broader goal of at least $3M annually, and remote work up to 5 days per

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of leadership-level and/or major gift fundraising experience.
• Advanced knowledge of the East Coast region and higher education.
• Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience/training.
• Advanced written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; political acumen.
• Strong project management and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a dynamic portfolio of 100–125 prospects on the East Coast.
• Plan, organize, and direct large-scale fundraising initiatives with campus stakeholders.
• Lead campus leadership travel to the East Coast and engage senior leaders.
• Serve as expert development professional in a specific academic discipline.
• Ensure fundraising goals with a minimum of $3M raised annually.
• Oversee staff and participate in internal/external committees.
