Job summary

University of California, Berkeley is seeking a senior fundraising professional to lead major gifts campaigns for Berkeley Law. You will develop donor cultivation strategies and manage gift prospects to secure transformative gifts.

The role requires advanced knowledge of fundraising, donor relations, and communications, with a history of large gifts and donor engagement. Up to 20% remote work and travel are possible to meet donor commitments.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations.
• Advanced knowledge of UC Berkeley and Berkeley Law.
• Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to travel and work evenings, approximately twice per month, as needed.
• Ability to meet or exceed fundraising goals and performance objectives.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and directs large-scale fundraising campaigns for Berkeley Law.
• Participates in short- and long-range strategic planning including stewardship and foundation research.
• Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards major gift prospects.
• Writes complex proposals for individual, corporate, and foundation prospects.
• Travels to meet with donors and represent Berkeley Law.
• May participate in cross-campus fundraising campaigns.
• Ensures fundraising goals are achieved and raises at least $1 million annually.
