Job summary

The University of California, Berkeley is seeking an Associate Director, East Coast and Emerging Regions to lead major gift fundraising across the East Coast and Emerging Regions. The role manages a portfolio of donors, develops strategic campaigns, and partners with campus leadership to reach a minimum annual goal of $3M, with a focus on gifts at the $250k+ level and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
• Experience with leadership- and/or major gift-level fundraising.
• Advanced written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to make persuasive presentations to secure gifts.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages a dynamic donor portfolio across the East Coast and Emerging Regions.
• Plans and directs large-scale fundraising initiatives with campus and donor stakeholders.
• Staffs campus leadership travel and serves as a fundraising expert in a discipline.
• Ensures fundraising goals are met, with a minimum annual target of $3M.
• Identifies and engages key volunteers to advance philanthropic goals.
• May supervise staff and represent the location at events and committees.
