Job summary

University Development and Alumni Relations at UC Berkeley seeks an Associate Director for the East Coast and Emerging Regions to lead major gift fundraising efforts and manage a robust prospect portfolio. The role focuses on building philanthropic partnerships with alumni, parents, and friends, and requires strategic planning and strong relationship skills.

The position oversees large-scale initiatives, guides gift planning, and collaborates with campus leadership to secure gifts at the $250k+

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in leadership-level and/or major gift fundraising.
• Advanced written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience with East Coast region and public higher education context is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages a dynamic portfolio of 100 - 125 university prospects based on the East Coast to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective and current donors.
• Plans, organizes, and directs large-scale fundraising initiatives that involve multiple campus and constituent stakeholders in the region.
• Helps manage and staff campus leadership travel to the East Coast and may lead development efforts for specific academic disciplines.
