Job summary

Balfour Beatty Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician to sustain the physical condition of our residential communities and deliver world‑class service to residents. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and handle service requests promptly to maintain property standards.

You will work under the BBC Maintenance Job Family framework, with clear progression paths and training. A strong multi‑trade skill set, customer focus, and a valid driver’s license are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED graduate level.
• Minimum of 7 years of maintenance experience with no certifications or 4 years’ experience with EPA 608 Universal required.
• Approved designations or degree/license/certification in at least one of the following: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Appliance Repair Certification or Carpentry.
• Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
• Advanced knowledge in at least one of the following disciplines: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry.
• Ability to diagnose problems and implement repairs.
• Ability to perform Quality Control on work and repairs completed.
• Demonstrated ability to train on skill trades.
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to provide guidance and training to less senior technicians. Strong customer service skills.
• Required training for Maintenance Tech III completed within 15 months of hire/promotion date.
• Valid, state‑issued driver’s license with a safe driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees one or more assets and supervise general maintenance engineers and technicians.
• Ensuring the successful execution of all company safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Delivering the highest level of resident satisfaction through responsive, consistent, positive and professional interactions.
• Working a rotating on call schedule to have 24/7 maintenance coverage
