Job summary

Macy’s is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our distribution center running at peak performance. You’ll diagnose, repair, and prevent downtime on material handling equipment, conveyors, industrial batteries, and facility systems, with hands-on work alongside a skilled maintenance team.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years of direct maintenance experience, strong verbal and written communication, and proficiency with computers, handheld devices, and CMMS.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of direct maintenance experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret English policies, safety rules, and manuals.
• Proficiency with computers and CMMS.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose equipment issues by observing, listening to, and testing operating machines to determine the need for adjustment or repair.
• Troubleshoot and repair material handling equipment, such as conveyors and related systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components to reduce downtime.
• Use computerized maintenance systems to monitor, document, and report activity.
• Support facility maintenance needs, including basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
