Job summary

Macy's is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on material handling equipment, conveyors, sorters, and related systems in our distribution environment.

You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and utilize CMMS to track parts and work orders, while maintaining safety and quality standards. Prior experience in industrial maintenance and the ability to work a flexible schedule are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or encouraged to apply.
• 1-2 years direct experience
• Commercial or industrial maintenance related experience and/or training
• Equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Observe and diagnose machine malfunctions and determine need for adjustment or repair.
• Troubleshoot and repair material handling equipment and conveyors.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and report issues to the Manager or Supervisor.
• Use the CMMS to monitor, report, and document usage and parts.
• Disassemble and inspect parts for defects and replace defective parts.
• Assemble and test operate machines to verify correction of malfunction.
• Maintain a safe working environment at all times.
