Job summary

Macy's is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on material handling equipment in our distribution centers. You will inspect, diagnose, repair and test machines, batteries and related equipment, working independently on routine tasks and with the team on complex projects.

The role emphasizes safety compliance with OSHA standards and the ability to adapt to a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with two years of commercial or industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Observe and diagnose malfunctions by watching operating machines and equipment.
• Dismantle machines to inspect parts and replace defective components.
• Assemble, test and adjust machines to confirm proper operation.
• Install or recharge batteries for battery-powered material handling equipment and perform routine maintenance.
• Maintain safety by following OSHA/state/local standards and reporting issues to the supervisor.
