Job summary

Macy's is hiring a full-time maintenance technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on material handling equipment and related systems in our distribution environments. You will inspect, repair, and replace components, work with a team on projects, and ensure safe, reliable operation of PIT batteries and battery-changers.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of industrial maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of commercial or industrial maintenance related experience and/or training.
• Understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret employment policies, safety rules and operating manuals in English.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Observe and diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair.
• Replace defective parts with new parts or perform repairs.
• Install or recharge batteries for battery-powered handling equipment.
• Maintain and lubricate machine tools and equipment.
• Operate shop tools to repair or join metal parts.
