Job summary

Macy's is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on material handling equipment, conveyors, and building systems in our distribution and retail spaces. You will diagnose malfunctions, repair components, and follow CMMS work orders to document parts and activities.

Candidates typically have 1–2 years of experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to read safety instructions in English.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of direct maintenance experience.
• Commercial/industrial maintenance training.
• Read and follow English safety and policy documents.
• Flexibility to work day/evening/weekends/holidays.
• Proficient with computers and handheld devices.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions and determine need for adjustment or repair.
• Troubleshoot and repair material handling equipment; inform supervisor on outside/vendor needs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and inspect mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Use CMMS to monitor, document usage and parts replacement.
• Dismantle machines to inspect parts for defects and replace faulty parts.
• Assemble and test-operated machines to verify repair; lubricate tools and equipment.
• Maintain a safe working environment and report safety concerns.
