Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Minnesota is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a high‑performing team and drive strategic maintenance initiatives. You will implement TPM and PM programs, leverage SAP PM, and optimize reliability and safety across the plant.

You will develop bold strategies to minimize downtime, manage resources, and mentor staff, influencing the efficiency and effectiveness of production operations at our facility in Saint James, MN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience leading a maintenance team or project coordination.
• Strong technical knowledge in mechanical/electrical fields (PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering).
• Knowledge of maintenance management systems, work orders, TPM practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance Systems Management: drive peak performance using best-in-class systems like Root Cause Analysis, TPM and SAP PM to maximize plant capacity.
• Maintenance Staff and Safety: lead the maintenance team, delegate tasks, enforce safety policies, and promote a safety culture.
• Solutions & Troubleshooting: provide quick, effective solutions to day-to-day plant issues and prevent recurrence.
• Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: collaborate with Plant Engineer to design and manage PM/PM programs.
• KPIs: track and report maintenance performance, drive continuous improvement across equipment reliability and OEE.
• Flexibility and Leadership: step up when needed to ensure tasks are completed and operations stay smooth.
• People Management: develop and coach staff to improve performance and engagement.
