CVS Health seeks a Senior Mainframe Capacity & Performance Engineer to lead capacity forecasting, workload management and performance analysis across IBM z/OS. You will optimize mainframe resources for healthcare, pharmacy, and retail applications.

Collaborate with development, systems programming, DBAs, and operations to identify bottlenecks, drive optimization and MIPS reduction initiatives, and provide real-time diagnostics during peak events.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience in enterprise IBM mainframe environments (z/OS).
3+ years in capacity planning, performance engineering, and workload optimization.
2+ years using enterprise mainframe monitoring and performance tools.

Responsibilities

Monitor and optimize enterprise mainframe resource utilization, performance, and capacity across IBM z/OS environments.
Conduct capacity planning, forecasting, trend analysis, and real-time performance diagnostics to identify bottlenecks and risks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot performance issues and implement optimization strategies that reduce MIPS consumption.
Deliver utilization reports, assessments, and capacity recommendations to support infrastructure investments and peak-event readiness.
Provide technical leadership for testing, production support, and incident response in an on-call rotation.
