Job summary

CVS Health seeks a Senior Mainframe Capacity & Performance Engineer to lead capacity planning, workload analysis, and performance optimization across the mainframe environment supporting healthcare, pharmacy, and retail applications.

You will partner with Development, Systems Programming, Infrastructure, and Operations to ensure performance targets, reliability, and cost efficiency, including peak events like Open Enrollment. This role includes on-call support and strategic capacity initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years supporting enterprise IBM mainframe environments (z/OS).
• 5+ years capacity planning and performance engineering in large-scale environments.
• 3+ years analyzing utilization trends and forecasting capacity.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and optimize mainframe resource utilization and capacity.
• Conduct capacity planning, forecasting, and trend analysis for scalability.
• Identify high-resource consumers, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement optimizations.
• Deliver utilization reports and capacity recommendations for infrastructure investments.
• Lead performance engineering activities including testing, QA reviews, and on-call support.
