Job summary

CVS Health seeks a Senior Mainframe Capacity & Performance Engineer to optimize enterprise IBM mainframe performance and capacity. You’ll lead analysis of workload behavior, forecast needs, and drive MIPS reduction while partnering with development, operations, and architecture teams.

You will guide performance testing, reviews, and incident response during high-volume periods such as Open Enrollment, ensuring resilience and scalable service levels across the organization's mission-critical

Qualifications

5+ years supporting enterprise IBM mainframe environments.
5+ years in capacity planning, performance engineering, root cause analysis, and production troubleshooting.
3+ years analyzing utilization trends, forecasting capacity needs, and driving workload optimization.
3+ years leveraging enterprise mainframe monitoring and performance management tools.

Responsibilities

Monitor and optimize enterprise mainframe resource utilization, performance and capacity.
Conduct capacity forecasting, trend analysis and real-time diagnostics to identify bottlenecks and risks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify high-resource consumers and implement optimizations.
Deliver utilization reports and capacity recommendations for investments and upgrades.
Provide technical leadership for testing, production support and incident response.
