Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer to design, develop, and support healthcare claims applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and MQ. This remote US role requires strong collaboration with offshore and onsite teams and quality assurance across the lifecycle.

You will translate business requirements into scalable mainframe solutions, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance and performance. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Qualifications

8+ years of hands-on experience developing mainframe applications with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and MQ.
Experience with healthcare claims adjudication processes and related workflows.
Knowledge of code migration and release management, including deployment and backout procedures.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain healthcare claims applications on the mainframe.
Translate requirements into scalable mainframe solutions for claims adjudication workflows.
Troubleshoot production issues, optimize performance, and conduct code reviews and sustainable fixes.
Support testing, deployment, and post-implementation validation; coordinate with offshore and onsite teams.
