Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer to design, enhance, and support healthcare claims applications for a remote US-based role. You will work with business analysts, QA, project managers, and offshore teams to deliver reliable mainframe solutions.

Requirements include 8+ years hands-on mainframe development (COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, MQ) and strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration in an Agile environment. Visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

8+ years of hands-on mainframe development in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS and MQ.
Experience with healthcare claims adjudication processes.
Knowledge of code migration, release management and deployment validation.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration in Agile, onsite and offshore delivery.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain healthcare claims applications.
Translate business requirements into scalable mainframe solutions.
Troubleshoot production issues and optimize performance.
Support system integration testing, UAT, deployment, and post-implementation validation.
Provide technical leadership to offshore team members and coordinate delivery with onsite/offshore teams.
