Job summary

CVS Health in Albany, NY is seeking a Senior Mainframe DB2 DBA to support Db2 for z/OS and IDMS databases across production and non-production environments. You will lead performance tuning, backups, DR readiness, and automation initiatives in a large-scale healthcare platform.

Collaborate with development and infra teams, participate in migrations and upgrades, and maintain high availability and secure operations while delivering reliable database services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Db2 for z/OS DBA experience including design, maintenance and production support.
• 3+ years with Db2 administration tools and utilities (LOAD, UNLOAD, RUNSTATS, REORG, COPY, RECOVER, SPUFI).
• 3+ years advanced SQL tuning, index management, and 24x7 production on-call support.

Responsibilities

• Administer Db2 z/OS and IDMS databases across production and non-production environments.
• Tune SQL, analyze access paths, implement RUNSTATS, REORG, and indexing recommendations.
• Develop automation to improve DBA processes and legacy support activities.
• Manage backup, recovery, replication, and DR testing; support Db2 upgrades and migrations.
• Provide technical consultation to development and infrastructure teams; participate in on‑call rotation.
