Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Mainframe DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) to support, optimize, and automate enterprise Db2 for z/OS and IDMS environments. The role focuses on performance tuning, backup/recovery, DR readiness, and production support across large-scale mainframe systems.

You will collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to improve reliability and availability. The ideal candidate brings deep Db2 z/OS expertise, SQL tuning skills, and experience with JCL and DB2

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on Db2 for z/OS DBA experience (design, maintenance, performance, recovery).
3+ years with Db2 Administration Tools (LOAD/UNLOAD/RUNSTATS/REORG/COPY/RECOVER/SPUFI).
3+ years of advanced SQL tuning, access path analysis, indexing in Db2 z/OS.
3+ years JCL development, DBA job scheduling, 24x7 on-call support in large mainframes.
1+ year designing or supporting database replication in complex environments.

Responsibilities

Administer Db2 z/OS and IDMS databases in production and non-prod environments, including migrations.
Optimize performance via SQL tuning, index recommendations, RUNSTATS, REORG, and resource analysis.
Develop automation to improve database administration and legacy support.
Manage backup, recovery, replication, and DR planning/testing.
Support Db2 function level upgrades, migrations, RSU maintenance, and utilities.
Respond to service requests, changes, audits, and incidents with 24x7 on-call.
Provide technical consultation to development and infrastructure teams.
