Job summary

Rivian seeks a Diagnostics Engineer within Service Operations to develop and provide SME expertise in Vehicle Low Voltage Systems (12V, DCDC, wiring) for Electric Vehicles. You will coordinate software diagnostics development, evaluate electrical architectures, and design requirements for complex diagnostic systems while leveraging AI tools to enhance diagnostics and telemetry analysis.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of experience with Low Voltage Systems in automotive or similar.
• Experience with C++, Python, SQL, Linux or equivalent, with synthesis-level preferred.
• Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude, Devin, or Cursor.
• Experience with vehicle CAN and Ethernet tools (Vector CANalyzer, Wireshark).
• Strong foundational engineering knowledge across mechanics, physics, electronics, and software.

Responsibilities

• Act as service engineering SME in BEV energy distribution (12V batteries, DCDC/DCAC).
• Translate complex software code and requirements into diagnostic procedures.
• Liaise with software development; ensure tools, features and bug fixes meet Service needs.
• Design DTC-based field strategy to improve diagnostic accuracy and reduce repair time.
• Use AI coding tools to build/modify skills files or small diagnosis apps.
• Develop and improve diagnostic content, testing procedures, evaluation logic and scripts.
