Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Diagnostic Engineer to join the Service Operations team, focusing on Vehicle Low Voltage Systems, including 12V batteries and DCDC converters. You will coordinate diagnostics software development, design electrical architectures, and leverage AI tools to enhance diagnostic capabilities.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of experience with Low Voltage Systems in automotive or related field.
• Experience with C++, Python, SQL, Linux or similar at comprehension level; synthesis-level preferred.
• Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude, Devin, or Cursor.
• Experience with vehicle CAN and Ethernet tools such as Vector CANalyzer and Wireshark.
• Strong written and verbal communication, cross-functional collaboration, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Act as service engineering’s SME in BEV energy distribution including DCDC/DCAC, 12V batteries, wiring and system architecture.
• Translate complex software requirements into technician diagnostic information and repair procedures.
• Collaborate with software teams to deliver tools, processes, features, and bug fixes for diagnostics.
• Design software requirements for new DTCs and use AI coding tools to support diagnosis.
• Develop and improve diagnostic content, testing procedures, and automated scripts within Rivian's diagnostic ecosystem.
• Design test plans for diagnostic procedures and validation; debug issues to root cause.
• Produce technical documentation and monitor fleet hardware performance to drive improvements.
