Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled Structural Analyst to lead the structural analysis efforts for the reaction control system and helium system on the Blue Moon Mk2 Crew Lander.

You will conduct structural and dynamic analyses of valves, tubing, mounts, COPVs, and related components, identifying safety, cost, and weight improvement opportunities while supporting design trades and supplier qualification reviews.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years in structural/dynamic analysis of pressurized components.
• Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS preferred).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (Creo Pro/E and Pro/E Piping module preferred).
• Experience delivering analysis products with limited oversight in an aerospace setting.
• Expertise with fatigue analysis and fracture mechanics (NASGRO, VCCT, etc).
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods, material selection, testing & allowables development.

Responsibilities

• Conducting structural and dynamic analysis of valves, tubing, mounts, COPVs, etc. with limited guidance
• Identification of opportunities for safety improvements, cost savings, and weight savings
• Supporting configuration development and trade studies
• Review supplier analyses of COTS valves, supporting qualification efforts
• Maintain and report on work tasks, schedule, and technical status
