Job summary
Blue Origin is seeking an experienced engineer in Huntsville to lead structural analysis for the Blue Moon Mk2 Crew Lander components. You will perform structural, dynamic, and thermal analyses on valves, piping, COPVs, and related systems, driving safety and weight optimization in an aerospace context.
The role requires a B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, with strong CAD and FEA tool proficiency and a track record of delivering analysis products
Qualifications
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in structural and dynamic analysis of pressurized components and systems.
- Experience with FEA tools including structural, dynamic, and thermal analyses.
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E and Pro/E Piping preferred).
- Experience delivering analysis products with limited oversight in aerospace.
Responsibilities
- Conduct structural and dynamic analysis of valves, tubing, mounts, COPVs, etc.
- Identify safety, weight, and cost improvement opportunities.
- Support configuration development and trade studies.
- Review supplier analyses of COTS valves and support qualification efforts.
- Maintain and report on tasks, schedule, and technical status.
