Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Aerospace Structural Analyst to lead structural analysis tasks for the Blue Moon Mk2 Crew Lander components, including valves, tubing, and COPVs. You will contribute to safety, weight, and cost improvements while collaborating with a diverse fluids and propulsion team.

Applicants should have a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 5+ years of relevant aerospace experience, with strong FEA skills (ANYSYS preferred) and proficiency in Creo

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in structural and dynamic analysis of pressurized components and systems.
• Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS preferred) for structural, dynamic, and thermal analyses.
• Working knowledge of 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E and Pro/E Piping module preferred).
• Experience delivering analysis products with limited oversight in aerospace setting.
• Expertise with fatigue analysis and fracture mechanics (hand calcs, NASGRO, VCCT, etc).
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods, material selection, testing & allowables development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural and dynamic analysis of valves, tubing, mounts, COPVs, etc. with limited guidance.
• Identify opportunities for safety, cost, and weight savings.
• Support configuration development and trade studies.
• Review supplier analyses of COTS valves and support qualification efforts.
• Maintain and report on work tasks, schedule, and technical status.
