Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Hicksville, NY is seeking a Logistics Manager to lead warehouse operations, oversee shipping, receiving, inventory control and off-site storage, and drive safe, cost-effective material movement.

You will plan objectives, manage staff, and collaborate across functions to meet customer service and quality goals, while focusing on continuous improvement and adherence to GMP and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field is required; field preferred.
• Minimum five years’ experience in supply chain, logistics, warehousing or related field.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems and shipping/pick-and-pack systems.
• Demonstrated freight knowledge and negotiation skills.
• Proven success leading a progressive Shipping, Inventory, and Receiving operations.

Responsibilities

• Manages shipping and inventory control, including off-site warehousing facilities.
• Plans and manages departmental productivity, quality, and other outputs.
• Uses problem solving techniques to facilitate resolution of problems.
• Works with other managers to resolve systemic issues.
• Provides needed resources/support/training to staff.
• Provides feedback to reinforce performance and address gaps.
• Writes and conducts performance evaluations within 30 days of due date.
• Ensures safety and GMP compliance in the department.
• Interviews, selects, and trains employees in coordination with HR.
• Analyzes demand to ensure adequate capacity to meet needs.
