Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Illinois seeks an Operations Manager to plan, direct and coordinate branch operations. You will supervise warehouse staff, develop leaders, ensure safety compliance and optimize material handling, storage and routes.

You will also work with accounting on invoices and drive continuous efficiency improvements. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in management and 4+ years of warehouse leadership experience, with strong English skills and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in management or related field is preferred.
• Four or more years of experience as warehouse team leader or supervisor.
• General fluency in English, both verbal and written.
• Intermediate computer literacy, with MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate branch operations.
• Supervise warehouse staff including interviewing, training, and performance management.
• Develop supervisors and team leaders for daily routines.
• Monitor safety policies and equipment operation.
• Improve safety practices and equipment for safe storage and transport.
• Oversee paperwork, data entry, and reporting to management.
• Coordinate scheduling, routes, and driver/dispatcher activities.
• Collaborate with accounting on invoices and billing.
• Assist in budgeting for warehouse operations and staffing.
