Job summary

Smurfit Westrock plc in Hicksville, NY is seeking a Warehouse Associate to stage materials, move work in process, and prepare shipments. You will work with various departments to ensure timely material flow and maintain a clean, safe workspace.

The role requires forklift license or ability to obtain one, basic data entry and arithmetic, strong teamwork and communication, and flexibility for overtime during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Prior warehouse experience preferred.
• Forklift license required or able to obtain.
• Knowledge of safety rules and procedures.
• Basic arithmetic skills.
• Teamwork and effective communication.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change.
• Good attendance required.
• Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Stage trays, cages, pallets, cartons, dollies, skids, cut material and waste containers as required.
• Manage chipboard on and off of dollies and skids.
• Empty waste containers in each process area.
• Seperate and discard corrugated, printed material, garbage.
• Perform banding and stretch wrapping of materials for shipment.
• Deliver shipments to departments and interface with truckers.
• Back-up shipping, receiving and warehousing duties as needed.
• Follow procedures, policies, and safety guidelines.
• Record production information and time spent on tasks.
• Maintain clean and organized work area.
