Job summary

Sagora Senior Living's Heritage Place community is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to partner with the Culinary Director in delivering nutritious meals for residents across independent living, assisted living, and memory care.

You will lead kitchen operations, supervise culinary staff, manage inventory and costing, and uphold our Residents First values with a strong focus on food safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of sous chef or assistant culinary director experience in a commercial kitchen.
• ServSafe Certification and Food Handler’s permit required.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English; ability to use math for recipes and costing.

Responsibilities

• Assist Culinary Director in day-to-day oversight and supervision of the culinary department.
• Oversee the culinary department in the absence of the Culinary Director.
• Prepare menu items according to recipes and standards; cook à la carte items.
• Present finished plates and ensure high-quality presentation.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary, clean, and organized kitchen; conduct monthly deep clean.
• Assist with inventory and ordering of food and non-food supplies.
