Job summary

Sagora Senior Living is seeking a Sous Chef at Lyndale Abilene Memory Care to support the Culinary Director in delivering nutritious, appealing meals for residents across independent, assisted living, and memory care communities.

You will supervise daily kitchen operations, prepare menu items per recipes, ensure safety and cleanliness, and assist with inventory and staff coaching, all while upholding Sagora's Residents First values.

Qualifications

• ServSafe Certification and Food Handler’s permit required.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• 1+ year of experience as Sous Chef or Assistant Culinary Director in a commercial kitchen.
• Ability to use math for recipes and costing.

Responsibilities

• Assist Culinary Director with day-to-day oversight of the culinary department.
• Oversee the department in the Culinary Director's absence.
• Prepare menu items per recipes and present finished plates.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized kitchen area.
• Inventory and orders for food and non-food supplies.
• Train and counsel food service staff.
• Deep clean the kitchen monthly.
