Sagora Senior Living is seeking a Sous Chef to collaborate with the Culinary Director and lead kitchen operations at Lakestone Terrace. You will prepare nutritious, attractive meals for residents and supervise staff to ensure high quality and safety at every service.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year as a Sous Chef or Assistant Culinary Director in a commercial kitchen.
• Current ServSafe Certification and Food Handler’s permit required by state/local authorities.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to use math to calculate recipes and costing.
• Skills to prepare dishes for specialized diets.

Responsibilities

• Assist Culinary Director in day-to-day oversight of the culinary department.
• Oversee the culinary department in the absence of the Culinary Director.
• Prepare menu items according to recipes and standards.
• Cook à la carte items and present finished plates.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized kitchen area.
• Deep clean the kitchen on a monthly basis.
• Assist with inventory and ordering of food and non-food supplies.
• Train and counsel food service associates.
