Job summary

HallKeen Assisted Living Communities is seeking an Executive Director for our Massachusetts community to lead daily operations and manage full P&L. You’ll recruit and train department heads, supervise staff, and drive resident satisfaction in a compliant, safe environment.

Responsibilities include strategic planning, budgeting, labor and occupancy optimization, and ensuring adherence to rights and EOEA/OSHA regulations while building a high-performing team and fostering community relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in business or health admin.
• 3–5 years’ experience in operations management with financial goals in retirement living or similar.
• Experience recruiting and training staff.
• Knowledge of facilities management.
• Strong performance management and coaching skills.
• Basic computer literacy, MS Excel/Word.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of community strategies; report performance to Regional VP.
• Manage labor, occupancy, expenses, and quality of services; redirect activities as needed.
• Ensure adherence to Resident’s Bill of Rights and EOEA regulations.
• Hire, orient, train, supervise, discipline, and evaluate staff per policies.
• Assess resident needs to guide ongoing evaluation programs.
• Ensure compliance with policies and local regulations.
• Assist in budgeting and capital planning; forecast expenses.
• Act as liaison between field operations and corporate; build relationships.
• Engage in local community activities and referrals networks.
• Oversee building maintenance and safety programs.
• Fill in across roles as needed; build a high performing team.
• Meet financial management targets and maintain safe environments per OSHA/EOEA.
• Lead marketing activities to increase census and ensure compliant move-in/leasing.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
