Job summary

HallKeen Assisted Living Communities is seeking an Executive Director for our Watertown, MA community. You will oversee day-to-day operations, lead the team, manage P&L, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering quality resident service and safety.

Responsibilities include staffing, budgeting, marketing, and building a high-performing culture with strong community relations and census growth. A bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years in senior living management are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration required.
• 5–7 years related business experience in skilled nursing, assisted living, or retirement living facility/community management.
• 3–5 years’ experience in operations management with success in meeting financial goals in retirement living.
• Demonstrated success in operating or maintaining a quality, customer service workforce.
• Experience in recruiting and training others.
• Understanding of facilities management.
• Solid performance management skills with documenting performance conversations and coaching.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Licensed as an administrator for assisted living in states requiring such a license.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of all strategies for the community aligned with corporate objectives.
• Develop and implement strategies regarding labor, occupancy, mix, expenses, and quality of services; review and redirect activity as needed.
• Ensure adherence to the Resident’s Bill of Rights.
• Interview, hire, orient, train, supervise, discipline and evaluate staff per EOEA regulations and company policies.
• Assess resident needs to determine staff priorities and evaluation programs.
• Comply with all operations aspects and EOEA/OSHA regulations.
• Assist in developing operational budgets and capital requirements.
• Act as liaison between field operations and corporate office; build relationships with corporate resources.
• Engage in local community activities to establish networks for referrals.
• Review building construction and maintenance; make recommendations.
• Able to work in various community roles as needed; build a high-performing team.
• Meet financial management requirements for the community.
• Maintain a safe working and living environment per OSHA/EOEA.
• Perform scheduled marketing activities to increase census.
• Oversee move-in and leasing processes to ensure compliance with Fair Housing and EOEA standards.
