Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group seeks a Sr. Litigation Specialist to own complex litigated claims involving auto and homeowners matters. This remote role supports defense counsel, shapes settlement strategy, and drives timely resolutions while managing costs and indemnity exposure.

You will coordinate discovery, negotiate with counsel, analyze liability and damages, and present recommendations to our leadership. Travel may be required and you will operate within a flexible, results‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance or risk management or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• High School diploma required.
• Proven experience handling insurance claims.
• Prior Senior Casualty experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze claims and create discovery plan including depositions, retention of experts, IMEs, and accident reconstruction for first- and third-party claims of varying complexity.
• Direct defense counsel providing direction and authority for resolution and balancing defense costs with indemnity.
• Review liability, damages, coverage, and risk to assess for independent settlement.
• Collaborate with defense counsel to identify strategy for negotiations and participate in mediations and settlement conferences.
• Authorize, approve, and monitor budget for outside counsel and analyze defense expenses using bill review software.
• Prepare and present recommendations for litigated cases to local and executive management at IELT level.
• Secure authority up to the highest levels for resolution.
