Job summary

Grüns is hiring a Senior Manager, Retention and Lifecycle to own the customer relationship from acquisition through retention across email and SMS. The role operates in our remote HQ with a fully remote, high-trust environment and biannual in-person off-sites.

You will lead lifecycle strategy, implement an always-on testing engine, and manage a remote CRM team while partnering with ecommerce, paid media, CX, and data teams to drive meaningful improvements in engagement and lifetime value.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years in-house lifecycle ownership at a consumer subscription brand.
• Experience with automated flows and one-off campaigns across email and SMS.
• Structured testing roadmap with measurable incremental impact.
• Hands-on personalization or data enrichment tools.
• AI-powered approach to build, test, send, and report.

Responsibilities

• Own lifecycle strategy for key customer audiences, defining goals, segmentation, messaging, offers, journeys, and test roadmap.
• Build and evolve audience segmentation based on lifecycle stage, behavior, value, engagement, needs, and churn risk.
• Define messaging hierarchy and value proposition for each audience and lifecycle moment across channels.
• Shift programs to an always-on system that tests and optimizes itself.
• Lead a remote CRM operations team and expand AI/automation to reduce manual work and increase testing velocity.
• Collaborate with Ecom & Paid to grow email and SMS lists beyond on-site capture.
