Job summary

Travelers is hiring a Sr Technical Specialist, Specialty Liability in Morristown, NJ. You will manage complex injury and property-damage claims from first notice to resolution, including coverage evaluation and settlement discussions, while mentoring other claim professionals.

You will work with Counsel on litigation strategies, maintain records, and ensure timely payments within authority. Travel may be required. A sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and four years of bodily injury claim and litigation experience.
• Active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Experience with claims management systems and enterprise technology platforms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information to multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze complex situations, exercise sound judgment, and make decisions independently.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage a high-volume workload.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage an active caseload of injury and/or property damage claims and litigation from first notice of loss through resolution within level of authority.
• Gather and thoroughly investigate information to determine coverage and liability and establish reserves.
• Provide timely and professional communication to customers, representatives, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders.
• Develop and execute advanced resolution strategies and coordinate resources for investigations and evaluations.
• Partner with Counsel to develop and execute litigation management strategies.
• Manage multi-party negotiations to achieve optimal resolutions within authority.
